If this ever ends
Nobody can promise a website will still be here in ten years. What we can promise is what happens if it is not, and we are saying it now, while there is nothing to gain from saying it.
You get at least 90 days of warning
Not an email on the last day. Three months, so there is time to read it, decide what you want to keep, and do something about it without hurrying.
You can take everything, the whole time
Export keeps working right through the notice period. Your writing leaves in a form you can open without us — plain files, readable on your own device.
Then it is destroyed
At the end of the period everything is deleted, including the backups. Not archived, not left in a dormant database somewhere. Deleted.
It is never sold, and never handed on
Your writing is not an asset. It is not sold, licensed, or transferred to whoever buys what is left. If somebody else ever runs this, you get the same notice and the same window to take your writing and go.
The honest part
This is a promise about an ending, not a promise there will not be one. We cannot tell you this will last. We can tell you it will not disappear overnight, and that nothing you wrote will be sold on the way out.
