Using this
Short, because terms nobody reads protect nobody. This is what we do, what we ask of you, and what happens if either of us stops.
A lawyer has not reviewed this yet. When one does, this page will change and the date below will change with it. Until then it describes what the software does, which is the part we can promise is accurate.
What this is
A private place to write, on your own device. It is not a medical service, not therapy, and not a crisis service — if you need someone now, the help page lists people who can actually answer.
Who can use it
People aged 16 and over. We ask you at the start and we believe your answer, because checking properly would mean collecting identity documents — which would undo the thing this product is for.
Your writing is yours
We claim no rights over anything you write. We cannot read it, cannot use it to train anything, and cannot sell it. You can take a copy whenever you like and delete everything without asking.
What we ask of you
Keep your phrase and your recovery key somewhere safe — they are the only way in, and we have no copy. Do not use this to store things that are illegal to possess. That is the whole list.
What we cannot guarantee
This is provided as it is, without a warranty that it will always be available or free of faults. We will not lose your writing carelessly — but the only copy that is certainly safe is the one you have exported.
If either of us stops
You can leave at any time by deleting your journal, and nothing is kept afterwards. If we stop, you get at least 90 days of notice and export works the whole time.
